my all-time favorite christmas song, a 1981 new-wavey punky gem by the female fronted Waitresses, spins quite a tale of missed connections, lame dates and of course forgetting the cranberries for your lonely christmas dinner.
the waitresses themselves are bit of an overlooked group, and they were responsible for the theme song of 'square pegs', also an overlooked show. they only put out two albums, however they have a 20th century masters compliation that is essentially a best-of from those. also, there is a live album from an appearance they did on King Biscuit Flower Hour, that has a LIVE VERSION of christmas wrapping! huzzah! post-punk you can dance to, cmon people those are only a dime a dozen these days......
